American Witch-hazel 7 Gallon
Hamamelis virginiana
A native small tree or shrub that grows in average well-drained soils. Blooms in the mid- to late fall with fragrant bright yellow ribbon-shaped flowers along the branches. Fruit forms over the winter, starting green and maturing to a woody brown. Seed capsules open the following fall, propelling 1-2 seeds up to 30 feet. Good yellow fall leaf color.
