This variety produces big yields of high-quality acorn squash, fruiting with uniform size, shape, and attractive dark green color that is retained well even in storage. The large semi-bush plants have thicker foliage than other acorn varieties, but their yields and intermediate resistance to Powdery Mildew are second to none. Plant in sunny, well-drained, nutrient-rich soil or containers amended with organic matter like Petitti Planting Mix. Water well after planting; maintain 1" of water once a week throughout the growing season. Feed with a slow release fertilizer, following label instructions. Mulch 2" to suppress weeds, retain moisture, and protect against extremes of soil temperature.
