'Tempelhof' is a slow growing, graceful evergreen plant with unusual, undulating sprays of dark green, scaly foliage. It may develop a more conical shape as it matures. Its unique form and texture provides year round interest as a specimen, in rock gardens or in foundation plantings. Plant in well-drained, amended, acidic soil. Water well after planting; maintain 1 inch of water once a week the first year. Little pruning is needed, as this plant shapes itself nicely. You may remove dead branches any time. When necessary, prune or shear in late winter to early spring, just 2-3 inches at a time. Fertilize in early spring, mid-summer, and fall with an acidic fertilizer, according to package directions. Mulch 2 inches to suppress weeds, retain moisture, and protect against extremes of soil temperature.
