Ice Plant 'Jewel of the Desert Ruby' 1 Gallon

Ice Plant is a beautifully blooming, succulent groundcover that looks very similar to Portulaca (moss rose) but with thicker, more vigorous foliage. Flowers are vivid in tone and reactive, closing up on cloudy days and at night. They appreciate dry, well-drained soil, and make perfect rock garden plants. 'Jewel of the Desert Ruby' is almost ever-blooming late spring to first frost with its bright mix of flowers that are ruby red at the petal tips with a central white eye and a golden halo in between. Plant in well-drained, dry soil amended with organic matter like Petitti Planting Mix. Water well after planting; maintain 1" of water, once a week, for the first year. Mulch 1-2" to suppress weeds and retain soil moisture. Divide in spring and summer when necessary.
