Stunning, large, deep magenta violet panicle flowers. Summer Phlox, a.k.a. Garden Phlox, is the tallest and most sun tolerant of all Phlox species, producing huge, 4-6" clusters (panicles) of flowers in shades of pink, red, purple, blue, white, and striped for summer. It is often planted in front to mid, sunny to partially shady borders with other pollinator attractants and ground covers. Blooms in mid-summer through late summer. This variety has good resistance to powdery mildew. Removing faded flowers will encourage fresh buds and blooms. Plant in well-drained, nutrient rich soil amended with organic matter like Petitti Planting Mix. Water well after planting; maintain 1" of water, once a week the first year. Fertilize in early spring and mid-summer with a multipurpose fertilizer. Mulch 1-2 inches to suppress weeds and retain soil moisture. Divide in fall when necessary.
