Phlox paniculata The Flame Series offers wonderfully fragrant, sturdy, compact and good disease resistant varieties of a cottage garden favorite. Flame Red produces showy clusters of intense red, heady flowers with darker eyes that will combine well with any of he other Flame Series along with coral bells, Astilbe, Shasta daisies, grasses and many more pollinator and cut flower favorities. 12-18"h 12-14"w Bloom Time July-August Plant in moist, nutrient rich soil amended with organic matter like Petitti Planting Mix. Water well after planting; maintain 1" of water, once a week the first year. Use Plant-tone and Iron-tone in spring or at planting; apply Osmocote in summer. Deadhead spent flower clusters down to lateral buds. Mulch 1-2" to suppress weeds and retain soil moisture. Divide in spring or fall when necessary.
