Shasta Daisies are classically white petaled with sunny yellow centers. Newer varieties are bred for outstanding weather tolerance, disease resistance, superior repeat blooming performance, and all-around easy maintenance. Used best in the front perennial border or with other butterfly attractants, and for cut flower displays. 'Goldfinch' brightens up the sunny border with more yellow center than other varieties plus semi-double, butter yellow, frilly flowers. Plant in well-drained, nutrient-rich soil amended with organic matter. Water well after planting, and maintain 1" of water, once a week, for the first year. Fertilize in spring and midsummer. Mulch 1-2" to suppress weeds and retain soil moisture. Divide in spring every other year.
