Hardy Hibiscus, sometimes also referred to as Rose Mallow, produces a 2-5' tall, rounded, shrubby plant that becomes covered late summer in huge, 8-12" wide, dinner plate-sized flowers. It's an excellent perennial for adding late summer and early fall color to the landscape or containers. Hardy Hibiscus prefers to be planted in well-drained to moist, moderate to nutrient-rich soil. A truly special variety, 'Summerific Perfect Storm' works particularly well in large containers, features deep black-purple, maple-like leaves, and produces white flowers 7-8" across with a red eye.
