Hardy Hibiscus produces a 2-5' tall, rounded, shrubby plant that becomes covered late summer in huge, 8-12" wide, dinner plate-sized flowers. It's an excellent perennial for adding late summer and early fall color to the landscape or containers. Hardy Hibiscus prefers to be planted in well-drained to moist, moderate to nutrient-rich soil. This 'Luna Red' variety, also known as Swamp Rose Mallow 'Luna Red' or Rose Mallow 'Luna Red,' is compact and well-branched, and celebrated for bearing huge, rich deep bugundy red flowers 6-8" across.
