Coral Bells, or Alum Root, are truly eye-catching foliage plants, and newer varieties have been improved by cross breeding with the native H. villosa to make them very cold hardy, heat resistant, and tolerant of various soil conditions. This plant's mounded habit and maple-like, nearly evergreen foliage is stunning for multiple seasons including spring, summer, and fall, and it performs well in garden beds and containers. The 'Mega Caramel' variety, as the name suggests, is a larger version of the popular 'Caramel' variety. The larger, peach-orange leaves display pink-purple undersides, and it is a villolsa hybrid.
