Dianthus 'Raspberry Swirl' 1 Gallon

Dianthus 'Raspberry Swirl' 1 Gallon

Dianthus spp.

Also known as 'Siskin Clock' or 'Devon Siskin' Pinks, perennial dianthus plants typically produce low-growing mounds of silvery-blue, grass-like foliage and single or double flowers with fringed or spotted petals. Some newer varieties are extremely fragrant and will bloom repeatedly throughout the growing season. Pinks make for wonderful cut flowers, showy edging and groundcover plants in rock gardens and at the base of roses, or near other, taller perennials such as Nepeta, Salvia, and Sedum. This variety displays mesmerizing, single flowers early summer comprised of light pink to white petals with a deep maroon to magenta picotee edge and central eye. Plant in well-drained, neutral to alkaline soil amended with organic matter like Petitti Planting Mix. Water well after planting; maintain 1"" of water, once a week, for the first year. Deadhead or shear, and fertilize, to encourage new blooms. Mulch 1-2"" to suppress weeds and retain soil moisture. Divide in spring when necessary.
