Coreopsis verticillata A variety of Threadleaf Coreopsis or Tickseed, this plant offers larger flowers than other coreopsis varieties that are also a deeper yellow. The variety is extremely hardy, drought tolerant, humidity tolerant, and road salt tolerant. The dainty, finely-cut foliage adds a nice texture. Pairs well with coneflower and bellflower. Shear after initial flowering to fresh up the foliage, if desired. Plant in well-drained to dry, nutrient-rich soil amended with organic matter like Petitti Planting Mix. Water well after planting; maintain 1" of water, once a week, for the first year. Fertilize in early spring and mid-summer with a multipurpose fertilizer. Mulch 1-2 inches to suppress weeds. Divide in spring or fall when necessary.
