All the material is in its natural organic state, gathered from the rural landscape of Northern Michigan, packaged in a vegan, non-GMO plant material bag that is chemical-free and compostable. The sheep are humanly cared for and their wool is handled organically. The Merino wool is naturally mold, mildew, dust mite resistant, water repellent, and fire retardant. If it gets wet, it dries quickly and re-fluffs. Merino wool breathes, keeping birds' body temperatures cool in summer and warm in winter. Materials: Merino wool, White pine needles, Dried field grasses, Natural jute strands. As requested by the Cornell Lab, to help prevent matting/tangling for the safety of the birds all dried grasses and jute strands are 2" or less in length.
