Sweet Pepper 'Aconcagua' 3.5 inch

Sweet Pepper 'Aconcagua' 3.5 inch

Capsicum annuum

'Aconcagua' is an heirloom, sweet pepper from Argentina, named after its tallest mountain. It develops extra large cone-shaped fruit, 12 inches long and 2.5 inches wide! It will ripen and can be harvested at green or orange stage, but it's recommended to be patient and pick when fully red and ripe for best juicy, crisp and fruity apple-like flavor. A good stuffing pepper but just as tasty roasted, grilled, stir-fried, and fresh in salads and on sandwiches. Peppers are great companions to tomatoes, basil, spinach, onions, and carrots. Plant in sunny, well-drained, nutrient rich soil or containers amended with organic matter. Water well after planting; maintain 1 inch of water, once a week throughout the growing season. Feed with a slow release fertilizer, following label instructions. Mulch 2" to suppress weeds, retain moisture, and protect against extremes of soil temperature.
