Blue Oat Grass is a well-behaved variety that grows in tidy, round clumps of narrow, blue leaves. It somewhat resembles Blue Fescue, only it grows larger than Blue Fescue. Blue Oat Grass is great as a specimen plant in beds or when used as a border. Cut back foliage late winter / early spring to help it regenerate. Plant in sunny, well-drained to moist, nutrient-rich soil amended with organic matter like Petitti Planting Mix. Water well after planting, maintaining 1" of water, once per week, for the first year. Feed in spring or at the time of planting. Cut back as low as possible late winter/early spring. Mulch 1-2" to suppress weeds and retain soil moisture. Divide in spring when necessary.
