Snake Plant 'Koi Fin' 4 inch

Snake Plant 'Koi Fin' 4 inch

Sansevieria (Dracaena) masoniana

Very easy to grow, snake plants are semi-succulent tropical plants typically possessing long, leathery, lance-shaped leaves that form stiffly upright bundles to shorter bird's nest or open rosette habits. Their foliage is uniquely variegated with various shades of green banding while some varieties develop gold, silver, copper or blue coloring, and cylindrical foliage. 'Koi Fin' is a more compact variety of 'Whale Fin' displaying broad, pointed leaves that are mottled in various shades of green and yellow with delicate patterns resembling koi fish. In northeast Ohio, tropical plants can be grown indoors year-round or can be enjoyed outdoors in the summer and returned inside during the winter. Preferring average to warm indoor temperatures, 55-85 degrees F. Grow in well-drained, potting and cactus soil mixes. Let soil dry out slightly to mostly between waterings, avoid overwatering, especially in winter. Supply humidity by setting on a shallow tray of moistened pebbles as needed; tolerant of dry conditions. Fertilize April to September with a multipurpose or cactus plant food. Follow label instructions. Good air purifier. Grow with other bright to medium to low indirect light houseplants such as Kalanchoe and other succulents, Philodendron, Dracaena, English ivy, spider and prayer plant.
