Very easy to grow, snake plants are semi-succulent plants with long, lance shaped leaves that are stiffly upright. Their foliage is mottled with shades of green, and some varieties have yellow margins, cylindrical foliage and small, bird nest habits. 'Bird's Nest' is a rosette, "squashed-down" form that is smaller and more graceul, yet just as touch as the upright types. All varieties work well in almost any light aspect, indoors and out. Let soil dry out between waterings, do not overwater. Supply extra humidity by setting on a shallow tray of moistened pebbles. Feed with a Osmocote or Miracle-Gro at half strength once a month, April to September. Grow with other bright to medium to low indirect light houseplants such as Kalanchoe, Philodendron, Dracaena, English Ivy, Spider and Prayer Plant.
