Codiaeum variegatum Croton is a tropical foliage houseplant related to the Euphorbia family that is recognized for its exotic, multicolored foliage in shades of red, orange, yellow, and green. Producing an upright, bushy form, it is covered in large oval-to-long and wavy leaves. 'Banana' is aptly named for its banana-shaped leaves that display bright yellow midribs, sides, and possible even speckling. Grow in bright to medium, indirect lighting from an eastern or northern exposure window, or under fluorescent lighting. Prefers average to warm household temperatures, 60°-75°F. Keep soil evenly moist to slightly dry. Supply extra humidity by setting on a shallow tray of moistened pebbles. Feed April-September.
