Chinese Evergreens are highly decorative tropical houseplants with a low, bushy habit that produce leaves 10-12" long and 2-3" wide in a variety of colors and variegations including green, white, and pink. Native to the rainforests and swamps of Asia, they are best used indoors in dark corners, low light areas, and in offices. They are also an excellent, easy-care air purifier. 'Maria' is a variety offering glossy, dark green leaves that are strikingly marbled with silvery green chevrons. Because of its variegation, this variety will perform better and maintain better pattern and coloration in brighter indirect to medium light. These plants prefer household temperatures of 60-70 degrees Fahrenheit. Keep soil evenly moist to slightly dry. Supply extra humidity by setting on a shallow tray of moistened pebbles. Feed with a slow-release indoor houseplant fertilizer from April-September per package instructions.
