Pyrus communis 'Anjou'
This popular, productive, European, fruiting pear tree features classically shaped, large, firm, green fruit with a tinge of yellow at ripeness, that contains a white, subtly sweet, fine-textured flesh. 'Anjou' requires another European pear pollinator, such as 'Bartlett'. These pears start to ripen in late August, a week before 'Moonglow'. These fruit are excellent for fresh eating, preserves and canning.
