Variegated kiwi is a fast growing deciduous vine with foliage that begins purplish green and matures to green variegated with white and pink. Greenish yellow 1" fruits that are similar in taste to the larger, fuzzy kiwis sold in grocery stores (Actinidia deliciosa). Fruit ripens in September or October. Kiwi fruits are borne on female vines only, and require at least one male vine in the vicinity for pollination. Male plants may have stronger variegation than females. 'Red Beauty' is a female only selection with green foliage variegated with red.
