Hardy kiwi produce 1.5" smooth-skinned green fruits that are similar in taste, but sweeter than the larger, fuzzy kiwis sold in grocery stores (Actinidia deliciosa). Fruits may be eaten without removing the skin, like a grape. Kiwi fruits are borne on female vines only, and require at least one male vine in the vicinity for pollination, but 'Issai' produces perfect flowers that are self pollinating and slef-fruitful. Fruit ripens in September or October. Can be grown in containers.
