Quercus palustris This fast growing, broad pyramidal to oval canopy shade tree is a tough, adaptable Ohio native. It produces glossy, 5-lobed deep green, leaves that turn bronze to russet-red in fall. It is heat, air polluntion, clay soil and wet soil tolerant. An excellent, strong, wetland or rain garden tree, and its 1/2" acorns are a natural wildlife food source feeding songbirds, turkeys, ducks, etc. Also known as Swamp Spanish Oak.
