Quercus macrocarpa A large deciduous tree with a very wide, open crown. It can exceed 100 feet in height and width, and is usually wider than it is tall. Acorns are large, up to 1½" with up to half of the acorn enclosed in the fringed cup. This is the largest of the native oaks. Adaptable to soils that are permanently moist to soils that are dry.
