Crabapple 'Snowdrift' 10 Gallon

Crabapple 'Snowdrift' 10 Gallon

Malus 'Snowdrift'

A popular flowering crabapple that produces a very uniform, symmetrical, rounded canopy covered with pink buds opening to abundant white flowers in spring. In summer, three-inch long, bright green, glossy leaves display. Later, it produces small, 3/8 inch orange, persistent fruit. It makes a superb garden specimen, perfect for formal landscapes or as general spring color with good to excellent disease resistance. Plant in well-drained, nutrient-rich, amended soil. Water well after planting; maintain 1" of water once a week the first year. Prune in late winter to control size and form, or after flowering. Remove dead or damaged stems at any time. Feed at least twice during the growing season, using a slow-release fertilizer in early spring and again in mid summer, according to package instructions. Mulch 2" to suppress weeds, retain moisture, and protect against extremes of soil temperature. A regular spraying schedule to reduce insects and disease is recommended.
