Daylily 'Aztec Gold' 1 Gallon

Daylilies are one of the most popular, easy-to-grow perennials producing long, slender stalks of multiple lilies, each opening for one day. As the plant matures, bud and flower counts increase, and the plant blooms over the course of several weeks. 'Aztec Gold' is an eye-catching variety that produces a profusion of starry, dark golden-yellow blossoms midsummer to early fall that are adorned with thin petals. The 3.5" flowers stand out well against the dark green, grass-like foliage. Plant in well-drained to moist, moderate to nutrient rich soil amended with organic matter like Petitti Planting Mix. Water well after planting; maintain 1" of water, once a week the first year. Use Plant-tone and Iron-tone in spring or at planting; apply Osmocote in summer. Remove spent flower stems before seed pods form for better blooming. Mulch 1-2" to suppress weeds and retain soil moisture. Divide in spring or fall every 4-6 years.
