Also known as Star Flower, Star Cluster, or Egyptian Starflower, these compact, uniform annuals produce enormous clusters of five-point flowers that are heat and humidity proof. They're also butterfly and hummingbird magnets! Pentas are perfect for hot, sunny spots where you desire brilliant color throughout the summer, and they work great in both the landscape and containers as showy ?fillers". Starcluster&trade Lavender displays starry blooms in a rich lavender hue. Grow in sunny areas with well-draining, amended soil, or in containers with good drainage. Feed with a slow-release fertilizer per label instructions. Trim a couple times during the growing season to maintain better blooming and a tidy habit. Mulch 2" to suppress weeds, retain moisture, and protect against extremes of soil temperature.
