This petite Celosia variety produces showy and spiky, deep red plumes that remain compact over bright green foliage. Its flowers are non-fading and possess good heat tolerance. The Celosia family is an old-fashioned bedding plant family that has been significantly improved to offer bold, jewel-toned color throughout the growing season. Choose from feathery plume types, crested or cockscomb varieties, or spiky candle flowers on compact plants with green to burgundy red foliage. Celosia provide vivid color all growing season in sunny, hot gardens and containers. They make excellent cut or everlasting flowers in dried arrangements and bouquets. Combine with other sun loving annuals such as flowering Vinca, Mandevilla, Lantana, and Portulaca in sunny areas, well-drained, amended soil with average moisture. Feed with a slow release fertilizer following label instructions. Deadhead as needed to keep the plant blooming and tidy. Mulch 2? to suppress weeds, retain moisture and protect against extremes of soil temperature.
