Lyme Grass is native to the coastal areas of Europe and can tolerate tough climate conditions. If is a fast-growing semi-evcergreen grass with flat foliage with a gray-blue color. It forms an upright arching clump, but does spread by rhizomes and can be aggressive (less so in dry, clay soil). Cut back the leaves in fall and divide during the growing season. Plant in sandy soils, but it will tolerate nearly all conditions. Water well after planting; maintain 1" of water, once a week the first year. Use slow release fertilizer in spring or at planting. Mulch 1-2" to suppress weeds and retain soil moisture.
