This showy, mounded groundcover variety of Sedum produces attractive, deep, dusky violet, succulent foliage developing bright pink flowers in late summer that the bees cannot resist. Sedum are excellent for rock gardens, hot and dry sites, and in sunny containers providing three seasons of garden interest. Combine with Russian Sage, Black-eyed Susans, and Ornamental Grasses for a low maintenance, deer and rabbit resistant garden. Plant in well-drained, nutrient rich to poor, dry soil amended with compost or planting mix. Avoid wet sites. Water well after planting; maintain 1" of water, once a week the first year. Apply a slow release fertilizer in spring and again midsummer. Cut stems or deadhead to promote reblooming. Mulch 1-2 inches to suppress weeds and retain soil moisture. Divide in spring when necessary.
