Foxglove 'Camelot Lavender' 2 G

Digitalis purpurea This splendid Foxglove produces tall, showy spikes of creamy yellow buds maturing to lavender bells with classic maroon spots inside. Part of the Camelot series, you'll enjoy early and heavy blooming occurring in both the first and second year, then sets seed and dies. Deadhead first year flowers to encourage deep roots and second year flowering. Allow seeds to self-sow their second year or collect and sow early fall. Staking is recommended. Plant in moist, nutrient rich soil amended with organic matter like planting mix. Water well after planting; maintain 1" of water, once a week the first year. Use a slow release fertilizer in spring or at planting; reapply in summer. Mulch 1-2" to suppress weeds and retain soil moisture. Combine with other cutting favorites including Peonies, Lilies, Baptisia, and coneflower.
