'Fiddle Leaf Fig' is very popular with its bold, fiddle-shaped leaves, making an attractive specimen in a bright living room or office. These plants can be grown indoors year round, or outdoors for the summer and brought back inside for the winter. Grow in bright to medium, indirect lighting from an eastern or northern exposure window, or under fluorescent lighting. These plants will rapidly deteriorate in dim lighting. Prefers cool to average household temperatures, 60?-70?F. Spray mist regularly and keep soil evenly moist to slightly dry. Supply extra humidity by setting on a shallow tray of moistened pebbles. Feed with Osmocote or Miracle-Gro April-September. Grow indoors over winter. Re-pot into a larger container with fresh potting mix annually, as this plant wants to become larger and needs room for the expansion of both height and roots. Brown spots on foliage or dropping leaves is a natural part of the maturing process of this plant, so long as you're not seeing it in abundance.
