This herbaceous plant is often grown outdoors as a perennial groundcover, able to withstand light foot traffic and forming dense green tufts of foliage plus small white flowers in spring. Each St. Patrick's Day season, we pot up and decorate some for use as gifts which can also be enjoyed year-round as houseplants.
