A unique and beautiful option for any indoor space, braided Money Trees have been a symbol of luck and prosperity since the 1980s. First cultivated in Taiwan and following a rise to popularity in Japan and East Asia, the plant is actually associated with the Chinese practice of Feng Shui. It is believed that the braided trunk traps fortune within its folds, and that the five leaves symbolize the five elements of earth, water, fire, wind, and metal. A plant with seven leaves is thought to be even luckier. Water every couple weeks, allowing soil to dry between waterings. Avoid overwatering! Mist as possible, given these plants enjoy humidity. Prune dry or dead leaves as they appear. Re-pot every 2-3 years to reinvigorate the plant with fresh soil and nutrients.
