Ferns are a classic shade plant family with numerous tropical/houseplant varieties. All are excellent as air purifying container plants, beautiful growing in hanging baskets, or displayed in terrariums, a humid bathroom or kitchen. Korean Rock fern is a cold hardy, low growing, creeping species with glossy, dark green fronds that are 3-6 inches long, lance-shaped and bipinnate with dark brown to black veins. They add fine, tropical texture to shaded decks, patios, and other outdoor living areas. Or, pair it with traditional shade-loving perennials such as bleeding heart, Hosta, and Astilbe. Plant in protected areas, this plant grows well in containers. Requires fertilizer only once or twice a year!
