European St. John's Wort is a short shrub, often planted as a groundcover. Small yellow flowerscover the plant in summer and are attractive to pollinators. Green leaves drop, and often stems may die back to the ground. If stems persist from year to year, shear them down in late winter or early spring to produce young, vigorous growth. Tolerates a wide range of soils, and can spread aggressively from underground stems.
