Wormwood 'Powis Castle' 2 Gallon

This lovely, hardy perennial family produces clumping to spreading mounds of stunning, silvery-white, fine to bold-textured foliage that gives an almost velvet-like sheen and feel to the plant. Aromatic and easy to grow in poor soils, they make a great companions to other salt-tolerant and neglect-tolerant plants. They look their best in sunny gardens and containers combined with hot-colored plants. 'Powis Castle' is an award-winning, sub-shrub variety that is highly valued for its fern-like foliage. It displays yellow flowers late summer to early fall, which are best cut of to keep the foliage at its best as the star of the show. Plant in well-drained to dry, nutrient-poor soil amended with organic matter like Petitti Planting Mix. Water well after planting; maintain 1" of water, once a week, for the first year. Shear to rejuvenate foliage. Mulch 1-2" to suppress weeds and retain soil moisture. Divide in spring or fall when necessary.
