Ornamental Onion 'Serendipity' 1 Gallon

This late spring to late summer-blooming bulb family is steadily increasing in popularity. New varieties of Ornamental Onion produce full clumps of green to blue-green, onion-scented foliage and a variety of spherical to cone to clustered blooms. The flowers make an excellent addition to spring-blooming bulb gardens, cutting gardens, and sunny containers. 'Serendipity' displays globe-like, rosy-purple flowers atop attractive blue foliage that, when crushed, emits a smell of onion. Plant in well-drained, nutrient rich soil amended with organic matter like Petitti Planting Mix. Water well after planting; maintain 1" of water, once a week the first year. Mulch 1-2" to suppress weeds and retain soil moisture. Divide in spring when necessary.
