English daisies are early spring favorites, producing fluffy, pom-pom to tufted, daisy-like flowers with bright yellow centers. They develop a compact, clumping growth habit with good flower vigor, performing right up until the heat of summer. Use in rock gardens, plant around spring blooming bulbs, and in spring containers. 'Habanera Mix' displays huge quantities of 2" wide, quilled, double flowers from early spring to early summer in shades of red, rose, white with red tips, and white. Plant in cool, moist, nutrient-rich soil amended with organic matter like Petitti Planting Mix. Water well after planting; maintain 1" of water, once a week, for the first year. Deadhead this biennial to keep a clean appearance, but let some seed develop and drop. Mulch 1-2" to suppress weeds and retain soil moisture. Divide after flowering.
