This Japanese catmint variety is a very cold hardy, long blooming, and showy perennial forming a round mound of wonderfully aromatic foliage. Its large, vibrant, violet purple flowers, and dense habit makes this a perfect size for large containers, the middle of a sunny landscape border, or an excellent addition to a deer resistant, pollinator station. Combines nicely with Shasta Daisy, Heucherella, and Bee Balm. Plant in well-drained, nutrient rich to poor soil amended with compost or planting mix. Water well after planting; maintain 1" of water, once a week the first year. Apply a slow release fertilizer in spring and again midsummer. Shear back by two-thirds after blooming for a neater appearance and reblooming. Mulch 1-2 inches to suppress weeds and retain soil moisture. Divide in spring or fall when necessary.
