A compact, deciduous plant recognized for bearing luminous, variegated foliage, this variety offers rich, lavender-blue whirls of flowers late summer and into fall. Shrub-like with woody stems, it boasts blue-gray leaves with creamy margins, which helps the flowers to stand out and attract butterflies, bees, and other beneficial insects. This plant blooms late in the growing season when other shrubs are not flowering, which adds to your development of a progressively-blooming garden. No maintenance is required but a hard cut-back each spring will help the plant fill out and will encourage good branching structure.
