Mophead Hydrangea Endless Summer ® Pop Star® 3 Gallon

Hydrangea macrophylla

This is an improvement on the original repeat blooming hydrangea! It develops clusters of 8 inch blue or pink mophead blooms consistently on old and new wood through the summer. Pop Star® reblooms 2 to 4 weeks earlier than other rebloomers. Makes a stunning addition to fresh and dried arrangements. An excellent complement to other part shade plants in the landscape like Azaleas, Leucothe, and Astilbe. Plant in well-drained to moist, amended soil. Water well after planting; maintain 1 inch of water once a week the first year. Prune down to uppermost growth in spring. Remove dead, winter damaged stems and silver, older wood at this time. Deadhead in summer through fall. Feed early spring and mid-summer with a slow release fertilizer. For blue flowers use Aluminum Sulfate or Garden Sulfur; for pink apply Garden Lime. Use Triple Phosphate to help force blooms. Follow label instructions. Mulch 2 inches to suppress weeds, retain moisture and protect against extremes of soil temperature.
