A continuous and abundant blooming, dwarf weigela variety for the front of the border or for edging the perennial garden with excellent cold hardiness. This rounded mound of thick, deep green foliage is topped by vivid pink, tubular flowers that appear in late spring and continue to bloom in waves through summer. A hummingbird magnet! Weigelas are easy, perfect performers for sunny small spaces, in containers, as low hedges, mixed borders, or foundation plantings. They provide three seasons of color and possess good deer resistance planted along with Junipers, ornamental grasses, and deciduous Holly. Plant in well-drained to moist, amended soil. Water well after planting; maintain 1" of water once a week the first year. Feed at least twice during the growing season with a slow release fertilizer in early spring and again mid-summer. Follow label instructions. No deadheading necessary. Prune to remove winter dieback in spring; do all other pruning immediately after flowering. Mulch 2" to suppress weeds, retain moisture and protect against extremes of soil temperature. A Proven Winners® variety.
