This unique spirea shows off a variety of foliage colors all growing season, predominantly blue-green with changing shades of burgundy, pink, purple and red in fall. Its compact, mounding habit is covered in large clusters of white flowers early summer that will continue to rebloom after being trimmed. All Spirea are very low maintenance and can be used as a groundcover, low hedge or in containers. Combine with Juniper, grasses and roses. Plant in well-drained to moist, amended soil. Water well after planting; maintain 1 inch of water once a week the first year. Little pruning needed; shapes itself nicely. Cut back to 1/2 its height in late winter to rejuvenate, and shear after flowering, promoting a second flush of growth and additional flowers. Feed at least twice during the growing season with a slow release fertilizer in early spring and again mid-summer. Follow label instructions. Mulch 2 inches to suppress weeds, retain moisture and protect against extremes of soil temperature. A Proven Winners® variety.
