False Sunflower 'Double Sunstruck' 1 Gallon

Heliopsis helianthoides
False Sunflowers ooze cheerfulness with a long season of showy, deep golden yellow daisies atop sturdy, green to burgundy stems and attractive green to red-tinged to purple foliage. They make for excellent cut flowers and butterfly attractants. 'Double Sunstruck' offers huge, double, fluffy flowers with sunny gold centers summer through early fall that contrast well with the shimmery, variegated, toothy foliage. Plant in well-drained, moderate to nutrient rich soil amended with organic matter like Petitti Planting Mix. Water well after planting; maintain 1" of water, once a week the first year. Use Plant-tone and Iron-tone in spring or at planting; apply Osmocote in summer. Remove spent flower stems down to lateral buds for reblooming. Mulch 1-2" to suppress weeds and retain soil moisture. Divide in spring or fall when necessary. Pairs well with Gaillardia, Salvia, Aster, Tickseed, Liatris, and Sedum.
